How to change the view of 'my computers' and other such programmes to how it was before?

so, it goes like i was playing a PC game on my laptop (hp, windows 7, i5).
then, suddenly the view changes to something that is extremely annoying. (take a form of a list or something...) . the default view was grid i guess..... or something like that....
i check it in the view pane, and the view it was before, is not to be seen.
please help me get the view as it was before...

thanks...

To change the view of your computer, you need to go the settings and click on the default settings option. You did this by clicking on the start button and then choosing "my computer" option. Double click on it and then on the sub menu that appears click on "view" to select the one that you want. This will automatically change your settings as they were before.

in the pane you are in right click then click view then pick the icon large medium or small. this will put you files in a grid view with the icons like the desktop uses
