Need help with calling my doctor today?

i saw my doc last week well the NP and they i had a sinus infection and gave me antibiotics but they did not i finished them today. i am still stuffy, has bloody snot and my nose hurts on the inside from blowing so much and i can't stop coughing i do it alot exp when laying down but like today o could not stop coughing at one point and my cough in beginning was deep and forceful then it went away now that is back again. sunday i hurt bad inside in my sternum area from coughing bad and that eased up some but is back at times. had a temp yesterday of 99.5 today i coughed so much my head spun and hurt.i am real tired to. at first i wanted to call my docs office 2morrow and ask for a new antibiotic but then i wanted to call them and ask them if i should go to urgent care cause i am not better yet and cause i am sore from coughing. then i decided that i would call and say i was in last week and got meds for a sinus infection and i am no better at all and i hurt from all the coughing and was wondering if the NP thought i should try more meds or if i should go to urgent care but i am not sure if that will work or not.

so would i plan work on what i wanted to call and say to them?

Just call and say you're still sick, and ask whether you can come in today/tomorrow or if you should go to urgent care. Answer their questions, and explain your symptoms, which are new and which have gotten worse.

The cough makes it sound like you went from a sinus infection to a respiratory infection. I'm not a doctor though, but it is important to call yours.

In the meantime, when I've been sick I've found that the Yogi brand of organic tea is really helpful. They have a "throat soother" that also cleared my sinuses some. You can find it at Walmart.

Just call your doctor's office and tell them what you put here. See what they say.

Just tell them about the deep cough and that your worried about having bronchitis. I would think your family practitioner would be able to see you rather than going to an urgent care center.

I've read through all of your previous questions and their corresponding answers and it appears that no one, including yourself has mentioned the fact that your coughing needs to be gotten under control through the use of some cough medicine. Most every adult has at some time or another experienced a pulled muscle in their chest from too much violent coughing. Very little a chest x-ray is going to do for you if this is the case.

many times a sinus infection can turn into bronchitis or pneumonia or could be misdiagnosed as a sinus infection. if your doctor has the type of relationship with you where he might call in a stronger antibiotic, then call the doctor. if you would have to wait until next week to see him, then go to the urgent care. if it is bronchitis or pneumonia, a week can make things much worse.

also, drink lots and lots of water. this will help flush the system, keep you hydrated, and thin out the mucous an phlegm that is being produced.
