Why won't my dryer element shut off?

Replaced all 4 thermostats, timer, door switch, start switch, switch interlock, and the element itself. The element is also not grounded out. I've ohmed every part with no issues. Element comes on in every timer position except the OFF position.

Your dryer element might not be shutting off due to either having a problem with the resistor in the timer cycle or the wiring connection. You should unplug the dryer and check the back panel for proper wiring. Consult a technician for more help.

Already replaced the timer and I triple checked the schematics. Everything is as it should be. Sad part is I am a technician...even my supervisor has no answer, therefore here I am. We've already replaced it with a new one but we want to know everyones thoughts.

Check the lint buildup not only from your dryer vent but also the outside vent before your dryer overheats and starts a fire.

Its not a vent problem.

Vents would only come into play when the clothes take too long to dry which causes it to overheat. Its not overheating, its just not shutting off even when the timer is in the OFF position.

My mistake. Was just trying to help. And thank you for enlightening me. I don't claim to know everything and enjoy learning. Enjoy your weekend.

Is the off switch a separate part or in the timer? it may be the off switch itself
