Britain and Israel are excellent allies, but so are the Saudis, Germans, and Japanese and Canada. It's hard to say "best" without leaving out many good friends. As to worst, we seem to be fighting constantly with North Korea and Iran, both of which are state sponsors of terrorism, and who are troublemakers of the first order. I consider China to be both a trading partner and a bad actor, as they do state sponsored cyberterrorism and cyberwarfare as well as not respecting our patents. They are not even a treaty partner, so not an ally. More a competitor.
Britain was one of our best allies for decades but the climate there has changed drastically the past decade. The US should not count on blind support from Britain's without risking further alienation. Iran & North Korea, a problem for everyone. Israel appreciates & depends on US alliances. And China too, because they need much US consumerism to quickly grow & expand; to accumulate wealth & prosperity. Which also equals power. They're not our enemy, exactly, but their ever-growing presence should not be taken for granted. As it's often pointed out the US owes China much debt. This could put the us in great harm economically & politically if we don't pay it down adequately. Something Washington continues to fight about despite the dangers. (Russia still has strong national pride & power to exhibit. It doesn't feel as though the "cold war" between us has ended entirely. Their rebuilding efforts & world presence should be respected as well. Africa is beginning to show signs of better modernization w/ great potential. A mutual alliance could go either way. Arab-Muslim growth in north Africa may spread to dictate US relationships, pro & con, within the continent.)
Once again, I am struck by the conspicuous absence of Canada from the conciousness of so many Americans . It's not that I mind. I figure that's probably just as well. But I do find it odd. Is it some kind of media-induced collective amnesia? Any theories?
the US has very high ratings in many african countries, that being said the UK, japan, south Korea, Saudi Arabia, Germany, France, Poland, Thailand, the Philippians, believe it or not we have a very strong alliance with Vietnam, all the Scandinavian countries except the Swedish seem to be pretty divided, Israel. Jordan, Kuwait, Taiwan overwhelmingly since we recognize there independence. Brazil. holly shit the allies of the US are so many that it would take to much time to list them all. and enemies of the us are mostly in the middle east and some south American country's such as Venezuela. country's like china and Russia are not allies or enemies. there is a level of mutual respect amongst the 5 super powers of the world. (US, UK, France, Russia, and china) and possibly soon India.
our best Israel and our worst is north Korea due to Korea not liking our government and us not liking theirs and Israel is our best because we've helped each other through everything (wars, aid, needs, etc.)
