Being taught by observation. It's called 'learning'. Do you need a God to teach you how to work a fork, wipe your backside, or not touch flaming wood? You'll find the vast majority of your fellow humans learned right from wrong before they absorbed religious teachings.
We don't have spirits, we are spirits. We were given bodies to dwell on earth. I believe that our sense of right and wrong comes from the wisdom of our soul. I think it is fascinating that pretty much every ancient culture that has ever existed came to the conclusion on their own that there is a higher power.
The sense of what's right and what's wrong has changed through the ages, which is proof of one of two things: there is no God or there is a God that changes his mind. Take your pick.
It is also the case that other animals have a sense of what's right and wrong, and in the cases of all animals including the human animal, the sense of right and wrong is influenced by the survival of the species. God? I don't think so. Survival.
We learn it from experience and those of us that have a conscience know if something "feels" right or wrong. There are millions of people who have never even heard of your "god" that know right from wrong. And, by the way, loads of people that call themselves Christians that are evil incarnate.
Inherent morality and a sense of ethics. Even in caveman times, they knew that stealing and killing would lead to repercussions and a payback on their heads. They learned not to do certain things and that became a law. A moral law.
we are made in the image of God we were made to worship God we were made to be in Gods famialy and He is our Father we are spirit soul and body we think and reason and we have emotions and we have spirit pertaining to the spirit
3 Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? 2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; 3 clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
12 For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law 13 (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified; 14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) 16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
Jeremiah 10:23 tells us: "I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step." Clearly, without God, we cannot control our own lives. He gives us the moral code to live by. Hope I helped!
We are a social species, as with many social creatures that rely on one another for survival, we have developed positive traits that allows us to peacefully coexist and aid each other. This is an evolved instinctual trait, it is the basis for empathy, charity, pride, guilt, and heroism.
We have a conscience. It is God speaking to us. We need the Ten Commandments because we think. What is wrong with America? As we kick God out of our government and schools, we are ignoring many commandments, acting like we are so smart we can make our own rules. Not working so well, is it?
