No, most states allow them for the disabled that have to use hand controls to drive their vehicles. Being one of those drivers, I couldn't drive without mine. Sadly, a few states have taken a stance even denying access to veterans who have missing arms. My feeling is this, if a doctor says you NEED one, you need it, it's not a 'want' item, trust me on this.

Then it appears you need to talk to the RCMP and find out if they're illegal.

No, I didn't know the questioner was from Canada. So I had him check the regs at the RCMP. A funny answer is allowed every now and then, though the new c.g's. kind of put a crimp in thing at ask. So, no harm, no foul. Sarte.

I don't think so, but check at any local car dealership, court office, police station, etc. for facts just in case.

I doubt it since they are used for disabled drivers who only have use of one hand.

They are illegal in some states. Check with your local police station before you install one.

Apparently there is no federal law against "Brodie Knobs".....but state laws vary.....you'd need to check with your state's DMV.....
