Ask your neighbors if you can help them clean up their yards for spring, shovel snow, clean up dog poop, or walk their dogs. I'm a disabled lady, and I would happily pay a neighborhood teen to run the vacuum cleaner for me.
It's better if you have a list of things to offer a neighbor when you knock on their door, rather than just asking, "Is there anything I can do to help you?" They might not be able to think of anything at the spur of the moment, but if you have a list of possibilities, it might help remind them of something they need done.
Don't settle for $2.00 per day. Ask for at least $2.00 per hour. Good help is hard to find, so do a really good job, and next time, they might even pay you more.
