When asleep, your nerves get 'repaired', so neglecting sleep, is neglecting your health.

Why don't they get repaired when I'm awake? How are they damaged?
Report as
Not familiar with the entire process, but when awake, your constantly using them, but asleep, the cells in charge of the repairing get activated.

Ok makes sense I guess
Is it bad to sleep for 12 hours a day?
Report as
Can also be harmful, for your mood, at least.
Excessive inactivity is related to shorter life span as well.

Hopefully I just die in my sleep then
I'm up all night n sleep all morning till like 1 or 2 in the afternoon
What do you suggest I do to fall asleep sooner and want to get up earlier
Report as
Basically, night sleep is energy-producing while day sleep is the reverse. So, if you want to fall asleep sooner, and wake up sooner, with the least amount of time, and be more 'awake', find something to do during the day; that makes you tired. And sleep at night. As the time gets nearer to the midnight and morning, the energy-producing feature decreases.

Sleep deprivation is an interrogation technique. Sleep deprivation can break induce hallucinations & it can act like hypnosis/suggestibility. A real problem w/so many people working so many part time jobs is people driving nearly asleep which is as much an impairment as alcohol (drugs). Of course, RESTful sleep in the key; if people don't sleep regular hours, brain rest is compromised. Some people can function on less sleep than others, too. I myself function best w/interrupted sleep in 3 & 5 hour segments. & I'm more awake @ night than if I sleep 8 hours straight then get up @ 6 am for a day job.
