I am an older American woman my bf is Egyptian. We marrying in Egypt How difficult is it to bring him to the States?

If he is marrying a US citizen shouldn't he get citizenship too? You would have to talk to the government to be sure.

He only receives citizenship if he's married in America. Shell need to talk to immigration for the procedure to bring him home with her.

Oh... I don't know much about the process.. That's why I said to talk to an official.

She can bring her husband to live with her right away. He doesn't have to be a citizen to live here. The girl is right.

No, he would need a visa at least.

Talk to immigration. They'll have the information you seek. Even if he were married in America, there was a 3 year waiting period before you could consider him even able to be considered for citizenship. Things may have changed since 9/11.

You will still need to fill out all the forms. Being married is not an instant pass in to the country.

It all takes a lot of time. You can apply for a green card. That's a lot of forms to fill out. Among other things you have to give evidence that your relationship is real, like pictures and receipts that show you've spent a lot of time together as a couple. Then you'll get interviewed to determine whether you're lying. Then, IF you get a green card, you will have to prove you're a real couple AGAIN after two years. At that point the green card will be permanent. Then I think after 3 years of being on a permanent green card will he be able to apply foe citizenship. This involves answering questions about American history. If you want to bring him to the US before applying for a green card you might be able to do so on a visa. There are many kinds of visas, so you'll need to see which is best for your situation. If you have a few thousand dollars I'd recommend hiring a lawyer...
