Did i get infected by hiv by touching a door that had hiv blood on it i notice my hand had an open wound the blood was there some hours

Report as

the hiv virus stays "alive" in open air for only 10 seconds. and if there were no cuts or scraps or open wounds where you touched the infected blood, and as long as the infected blood did not go into your nose, eyes, or mouth, then it would be highly unlikely that you could have contracted the aids virus. but if you are concerned, go to your doctor, and ask to be tested. you will need to retest in 6 months.

Most likely not. As soon as the HIV infected blood contacts oxygen and leaves the boody it dies, therefor you can not contract HIV from it

Ur fine, the virus dies immediately after it leaves the host

If u want to be really safe take an at home HIV test, but I think ur fine

thank you it helps i will get tested...but helps for getting my thru the 3 months

Yea, if u ask anyone who knows anything about HIV they will tell u that the virus dies immediately. Now if someone with HIV scratched their hand then smeared their hand on one of your open wounds that would b different. But the blood was there for awhile so any virus in the blood would hav died

Be safe, go get an HIV test, that will give you your baseline wait three months and go get another one. (SOP)

Very unlikely, but getting a test never hurts.

According to the CDC...

"No one has been identified as infected with HIV due to contact with an environmental surface."

"Scientists and medical authorities agree that HIV does not survive well outside the body, making the possibility of environmental transmission remote."
