I personally use all organic manure fertilizer and it works great
Political fertilizer would make it green, but it would be nothing but weeds. They make a early spring fertilizer that is slow acting. I use weed and feed, with a broadcast spreader. I've even used it while there was still snow on the ground!
Poo.
Something organic is what you want. Compost is usually really good.
Vermicompost, liquid or solid. Contact your local worm composter.
Golfgreen weed & feed does a nice job,but a little pricy.
Not a big fan of Chemicals obviously, but its your lawn:-).
?Sure you want to follow me? Lol!!!:-)
Change is best made one person at a time , one step at a time, sure not counting on it to come from the "top".hmmm.
And yeah, gotta be honest.. Did mean for you to think twice about using chemicals, but seems you've allready done that and have reason for using them, and also gather you'r not one of those who goes beserk using them without consideration, and that makes me smile:-).! Just alittle care taken and less random use goes a long way.:-). Hope the weed&feed works for the pesky Dandi's, never could gat totally rid of them up in NJ! They loved my yard!! Too much P--! Ha,ha...
www.gardeners.com. They carry a handy tool called UpRoot Weed and Root Remover. $36.99, I believe. Easiest would be for you to just take a look rather than my explaining. It comes in handy for any weed removal, but especially those with long TapRoots! :-).
Either miracle grow or cow/pig manure.
Fertilizers are important to improve the health of any plant, tree or lawn. A good fertilizer consists of manure, potassium, phosphorous and nitrogen compounds.
There are many type of fertilizers available. You can read more about fertilizing from
http://kawasakilawncaresite.com/fertilizing/
There are many organic and inorganic fertilizers that you can use. I would strongly recommend organic fertilizers but if you wish to use inorganic fertilizers i would suggest you to use fertilizers that have N-P-K ( Nitrogen-Phosphorous-Potassium) in the ratio of 3:1:2 or 4:1:2
So you dont have to use chemicals why not find some kids who want some pocket money & pay them to do what you no longer can. A lemonade to finish off their work & a few bucks in their pocket solves your problem. Hire 3 of them to do the job & I reckon you you won't have to pay for weed killer. it's better for the environment & helps teach a younger generation the value of working for their pay.
Oh I know this answer!!! Go buy this stuff called "pre-emergence". I think that's how you spell it. My husband is putting it on all the landscapes he did. It keeps all the weeds from emerging and fertilizes the grass also. I don't know how it works so great! When he comes home in 3 days from doing a landscape in Las Vegas, I will ask him for the brand and exact kind or I will call him today and let you know later. It is put on with a spreader which anyone can do and then watered in.
Cattle, moose, horse or buffalo pucky, and get a spot sprayer for the weeds. No sense polluting your whole lawn with a variation of agent orange.
Or you can invite our Commander in Chief over to make a speech!
It will fertilize, and eliminate at the same time.
Funny this showed up as a new question, but is a month old
Unless Hulk can smash a comment break, he can't do anything. it's about time they delete it.
It was really a question which asked for the smart-alecs to get crackin'
