How can I move on?

I just broke up with my boyfriend of 2 and a half years a fews days ago. He is an amazing man and we enjoy each other so much, but I felt as if our personalities are too different and becuase I didn't feel the deep connection I felt I should after 2.5 years. My ex doesn't seem to understand why i broke things off, and thinks I am giving up on the relationship, and hasn't had many nice words to say to me. It is so hard for me because I do love him and care for him very much, but didn't see myself with him for life. What can I do to move on...?

Relationships are difficult and what you did was very hard and a courageous thing, it takes a lot of guts to walk away from something like that, but if you know something's not there then why waste your time, you have a lot of tomorrows left , focus on those and finding somebody that you have that 100% compatibility with, don't dwell on the yesterdays you can't change them but you can change the future and you can make it be anything you want it to be, I know it's hard and it's painful and you hurt, but you'll get over it and you'll see in time that it was the best thing to do and hopefully he will understand that. Nothing heals wounds like time does...

Stop hanging out with him ... talking to him ... really, having anything to do with him ... and get a hobby.

If he was mean to you when you broke up, then you made the correct choice. That's not love. So just know you did the right thing and give it time. Probably best to not talk to him for a good long while, also.

1.) Change your number. . .
2.) Delete the person's number completely out of your phone.
3.) Get rid of every text, or photo you may have taken with the person you're trying to move on from.
4.) Throw away anything that may remind you of that person, or that they may have given you away... no matter how hard it is to let go.
5.) ...AND remember, no relationship is ever a waste of time. If it didn't bring you what you WANT, it taught you what you DON'T WANT.

You made the right decision to break up. He is hurt and lashing out. It will take time for both of you. To stay in a relationship that is not quite right is wrong, and just makes things worse in the long run. For now take a trip or a class that you wouldn't have before because it was something your ex-boyfriend didn't want to do. You start living YOUR life. Your are braver than you know. Too many settle because they are afraid. Good for you for not settling. In time your ex will realize it was for the best.
