How do i break a sleeping habit of falling asleep with a tv on

hey so i cant sleep with out a tv on because i have ocd and i am going to basic camp in July and i cant sleep with a tv on so how do i break this bad habit.

I have OCD and it is hard, I know how you feel, the only thing to do is too hide the remote (have someone else in your family make it impossible for you to turn the tv on) and it will be hard for a few days but it will be ok in about a weak trust me the better you work on it the sooner it will be solved

Go to bed, with the tv off, and close your eyes until you fall asleep!

its not that easy for me to fall asleep i have sleep disorders i have to take a pill for me to fall asleep and it takes like half an hour to kick in

Take the TV out of your room. Cold turkey is the way to go.

If your television has a timer, set it to go off later and later until you are sleeping without it being on. Also, the light from a television, computer, cell phone, Kindle, etc. disrupts the production of melatonin in the brain which is needed for sleep.
