What will help a scar fade fast?

I cut myself shaving pretty bad about two weeks ago. I put new skin on it after about a day and now the top part is healed while the bottom is still a scab. I've heard vitamin e cream will help and so will keeping it out of the sun. any other suggestions? Do these actually work? by the way I have genes vitamin e lotion

vitamin E oil really helps. It won't take the scar completely away but it will fade it and it won't be as noticeable. I used it when I cut my eyebrow open. (I had 16 stitches total and you can hardly see it now)

I heard lemon juice helps. I know for a fact that it helps heal acme scars, so I'd assume it would do the same..

Any kind of lotion will work because it's massaging the scar that helps it fade, not the lotion. I've had many scars fade just using 99 cent cream on them but applying regularly. It takes time.

YES - you are right. Bio-Oil is a blend of essential oils and oil-soluble vitamins (including vitamin. E) and it has been independently rated to reduce scars by 60%. You have my tick to show this approach is helpful....

I would recommend squalene oil ..works better just after removing the scab. May not work for long-time scar.

I saw on the Dr Oz show that vaseline is the best treatment for scar tissue

Ha ha. Only if you believe in Santa Claus. Vaseline is petroleum grease and has no effect on scars. Ohsnapitsana has the answer - Bio-Oil is guaranteed to benefit scarring - even old scars that are difficult to help at all....

The body repairs itself constantly and every seven ears you have a new body. Sadly, scars are replaced with the same distorted tissues and so the scarring persists, although it does fade gradually over the years. I am pleased to see that Bio-Oil is available in America - this stuff WORKS on about 60% of scars. Nothing is 100% effective - even cosmetic surgery doesn't look "natural" once it is done - it is just less disfiguring....

The best way to keep an injury from forming a scar is to not scratch or pick at it while it's healing.
