What brand of apples are the yummiest?

Report as

I just saw some Japanese apples at the store today that claim they are the yummiest, sweetest apples on earth. Sure wish I could remember the name of them. Azuri, I think.

I like Empires....they're a cross between Delicious and MacIntosh a perfect balance of sweet and tart, soft and crunchy.

Like Fuji the best, but that probably has a lot to do with not growing up with ( northern type)Apples and since moving away from the Mainland not having much acess to 'fresh' Apples. Fuji's seem to ship well and still have crunch and flavor. What is a Honeycrisp Apple?

I just learned this thanks to you! :)
A honeycrisp apple is a hybrid of a Honeygold apple and a Macoun apple. Known for its juiciness and crispiness,

Thanks Cj, lol... Now I'm gonna look up Macoun. Ha,ha..
Think I get the idea.:-).
Wonder, are any Apples in mass distribution still true to the Original? Hmm
Still remember my first Apple-Tummy-Ache, in Norway visiting family, sneaking into the neighbors Orchard, climbing up into the trees and pigging out on green Apples! Fun! But oooh... Later?? Not so!

Type is more important than brand. Apples are apples. Honey crisp are the best, but Granny Smith are the best for baking.

I would never recommend golden delicious bought in a store but in Oregon I picked some from a tree with the first snows keeping them crisp.
They were the sweetest most intensely flavored crisp apples I've ever had.

I am assuming you meant type of apple rather than brand.
I prefer Honey Crisp (they are grown in Oregon), but they are only available a short time of the year. I also like Granny Smiths. Hubster likes Johnagold (a cross between a Johnathan and a Golden Delicious). We have an entire town that is dedicated to apple orchards not far from where we live. If you have the chance to ever visit a working orchard, see if you can get a tour and a tasting.
