Don't leave electronics on standby like tv's radios etc . Don't leave lights on unless your in the room of course , make sure your plugs are switched off if not being used, don't leave your electronics on if you ain't using them make sure to take plugs out of the socket and yeah :)hope this helps
All of the above; plus,, change all lightbulbs to CFL (compact flourescent lamps) , initial cost will be about 3-10 times higher but uses about 2/3 to 3/4 less energy and lasts 8-15 times longer. Approx. savings 12% of bill. Another good option is to use LED's in lower light areas or outdoor spot lights. Use gas for cooking, dryer and forced heating( if in cold climate) , if in warm, turn off airco at night on cooler nights and turn on a fan. Sunny climates instal Solar Water Heater, and Solar Panels, they start paying for them selves as soon as switch is turned!!:-). Make sure to check attics are properly insulated.
