My mom just recently had spinal neck surgery. And while she was in the hospital, if she got hiccups, a nurse would run down to her room with a spoonful of peanut butter. She would then put the peanut butter on the roof of her mouth and hold it there as long as she could before swallowing it. Oddly enough, this worked EVERY time she had hiccups.

When they did it for the first time for my mom, I looked at the nurse like she was crazy. But it worked for her several times.

Yeah, lol. I read your answer and it seemed a little weird, but as annoying as these are, it was worth a try.

Hi. While I was reading your question, I, ironically, got the hiccups.. SO WIERD! Talk about "power of suggestion!" Cj's suggestion sounds like a good one. I have yet another. Pour a glass of lukewarm h2o into a relatively large mouthed cup... like a coffee mug. Bend down at your waist, as if you were going to pick something up off the the floor. Hold the coffee cup, while bending over, and drink 7 swallows of the water from the opposite side of the cup. This is why you need the cup with a good sized mouth (hole) at the top! They don't have to be Huge Gulps. It does have to be 7 at least. Then, slowly stand up and take a deep breath. This relaxes your diaphram... which is why you have the hiccups in the 1st place. I hope this works. In the meantime, I'm going to try Cj's idea! I know mine works, I'd like to try hers too! Good Luck and if you are really creative, you can combine both Cj's and mine. Peanut Butter always makes anything thirsty! Take Care, signed the " hiccuping- soon - free- to- be Merlin! "

A large spoon on sugar held in your mouth to dissolve and gradually swallow will put a quick end to the hiccups.

Hi. You may be too Young, or too Old for this but....... It has been known by many a great writer and many a great producer, director, and actor that: "A Teaspoon of sugar helps the medicine go down, the medicine go down, the medicine go down, just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, in the most delightful way!"
A quote from a song. I think it was Mary Poppins. Played by Julie Andrews. The other star was Dick Van Dyke. Anyway, what I am getting at is, your suggestion is great and I do believe it works as well. Thanks for sharing and have a gret day!
Before I go, looking at your picture, are you scratching your back with a slip n slide? You seem a relatively smart "gent." What are you doing in your picture? :0 :) :)
