We are not all equipped and knowing all the things that come with frail care is a stressful topic... We are so busy in our own lives with children and working and relationships how can we possibly add that extra stress appon ourselves. I guess it boils down to how do you feel about it. If your seeking a guilt free answer on ask this means you have mixed feelings about this and you should possibly deal with this question with a counselor
Some elderly people can be very difficult to care for when every one in the family has a busy schedule like those with depression, bad knees, other mental illnesses, those that need pills with every meal and at bed time, and those that are at risk of falling and hurting themselves. They are safer at a home for elderly people but their families should visit often.
it's two sided..there could be situations where the person needs constant medical attention. the average person may not have the knowledge to take care of a sick parent and in this day many people cannot afford to quit their job to give constant care. at home nurses are very expensive too. for those that just don't want to be bothered it's ashame.
This is a tough question. Some of us have very busy lives, trying to pay bills in this tough economy and we don't have the time or resources to stay home with a relative who needs constant care. It's sad, but sometimes and most of the time, necessary.
