My rabbit is lonely what should I do?

My guinea pig just died, she was my rabbits companion he was 16 weeks when we got him and he was introduced to her. Now he is 2 years old nearly and I don't want him to be lonely, so I want to get him a friend. (We are on holiday sometimes and although we have someone to house sit and feed him and I always give him lots of attention when I am home I am worried). But I'm worried that I can't introduce a new companion to him so late, some people said that my guinea pig and rabbit only "worked" because one was very old and one was very young. What should I do? I would get a female but I don't want babies, I would love them but I can't and I'm not sure about neutering.

Get a baby female guinea pig and slowly introduce them, giving lots of treats.

Play with him more give him more attention, if you introduce him to another animal he might not like it, it is his territory in his cage and he might not be willing to share it.

It's me again, just on a different account (forgot password & can't be bothered with the whole forgot password thing)

Thank you everyone for replying.
I don't mean to sound rude in this, tell me if I am sounding like that.

I am already playing with Taffy as much as possible, I need me time too!!!!!
I have bought him several new toys to keep him occupied but he just doesn't use any of them. He has had these sorts of toys before so he knows how, he just doesn't use them.

I'm not sure if I'm ready yet for another guinea pig, and I am wondering about getting Taffy neutered and getting an not spayed female? (I heard spaying in female rabbits is a major operation and most pet shops don't do it.) I want to get a female close to Taffy's age, maybe a rescue rabbit?
