Does anyone have any tips to avoid getting squeamish/nausea before getting a shot?

I feel ready to vomit when I just see a needle.

I can offer a suggestion - hypnosis. You have a fear of needles and your conscious mind would say that's not normal. Getting a shot doesn't really hurt all that much and you're better off for having gotten a shot. Your subconscious mind would disagree that that assessment. Change that behavior and you now have a new "normal". Look into it. It works.

That is an awesome insight. Though I don't know if I can afford a hypnotist to help me get over a phobia. I appreciate it though.

I do phobias like this in one session. It shouldn't be any more than $100 max. I charge $75 for my sessions.

Tell the doctor and he or she can give you the shot without showing you the needle. You have to look away, too.

Get your phone out and play a game like solitaire. Also you need to make sure you breathe because you could be easily holding your breath. Do in counts of three - in for three, out for three.

It never occurred to me that I might be holding my breath. Thank you.

Welcome. I got a nice warning from a nurse when I was doing it (no wonder I always felt faint lol)

Breathe, relax, the people know what they're doing. Everything will be fine if you stay calm. It's the same as getting cut, except this will benefit you.
