How do I Properly word a donation request?

I am doing a fundraiser and am looking for a min. donation of 2.50, but would gladly accept more. How can put a good sentence together so my volunteers know what to say to customers without saying "cost" when they ask how much it is?

When wording a donation request there are a number of things that should be adhered such as; the name of the recipient or cause, event location and the date and time of the event. In place or the word cost, you can use the word Value.

why not gladly accept less? You will make more if there are no limits.

I'm not an expert, but here's my gues: "I am doing a fundrasier (say what for) and I really want to help (what). (Maybe even try free-will donations, because some people put $1, while others put $20).
