My dog heals minor case of brown recluse bite with saliva, is that possible?
if you have any info, please email me at email@example.com
Overnight I was bit on my skin and intense itching followed. 1st a bump appeared. The more I scratched, the more it spread. 2nd The bump turned into 2 separate gaping fang-like holes. 3rd the sore opened and puss-white substance developed. 4th stung at touch, but the surrounding skin itched like hell. The area around it was swollen. It hurt to walk on, numbing sensation occurred, eventually I was immobile. No immediate attention was available for me at the time. I took some Benadryl; pain lessened.
I have a dog, she started to lick the wound, and though, it stung, my friend told me that dog’s saliva heals wounds. Two weeks later pass, (with the help of Benadryl, the swelling went down within a week) it looked like the scabby puss and skin infection healed.
I have a flat, dark scar; the bites were a centimeter in diameter, and maybe an inch of length. If you run your finger over it, it feels like there has been some skin loss/indent to it.
(Note: I apologize if I grossed you out.)
