Your first answer is a good one. This happens all the time in America now. Over half of all marriages end in divorce, with 1 out of 3 children not even having a father living in the home.
HIs mom has supervised visitation? Anyway, the son will grow up without his bio mom, and he will either come to accept it later, or be angry at her for a long time. Just be there for him, and keep telling him she loves him. I would not try to "make up" stories why she doesn't come see him. I would just say "she is very busy", which she is!

He has a step mom who has raised him since 6 months old and he started to call her mom within months witch was his own doing...and her visits started on seeing him supervised every two weeks, but as 5 years have past and the past 2+ she hasent called or asked to visit. now has two others and just recently called saying I want to see my son, and him to meet his 2 new brothers....first he dosent even know her, and to see her agian and the 2 siblings would so mess with my sons head!! we dont know what to do about it..

Get the back child support first, even if it means her spending time in jail. Then petition court to sever visitation.

The best thing to do would be to be there for him at all times and not to fail him. Try to make him understand that his mom loves him so much whenever the subject comes up. You can also bring in someone who is close to the boy to help and seek the services of a child psychologist if need be.
