I need help...

The problem on my homework says 42-27 + 7x5. I know the answer is 68, I used my calculator, but on paper I keep getting -20. How can I do this problem on paper to get the right answer?

The order of operations is this: First do all operations in parentheses. Then do all multiplication and division. Lastly do addition and subtraction.

42 - 27 + 7 x 5
42 - 27 + 35
The answer is 50.

Do 7x5 first then 42-27 and then add both of the answers together.
