How can I fall asleep faster? Read the extra detail space!

I have never been able to fall asleep faster than an hour. Even when flying to different continents, I toss and turn for a while before sleeping. I don't know why, I've had this problem as long as I can remember. I don't drink coffee, don't watch TV, I don't know if I have insomnia or another sleeping disorder or if I just can't sleep very well. And to make it worse, I'm a light sleeper, so when I'm just starting to nod off, the slightest sound will jolt me awake. All answers are appreciated.

It helps to read for about 10- 30 minutes before you try to sleep. It settles you down.

The answer is AB Calm, a product with calcium and magnesium which you can mix in tea, juice, etc. I have RLS so tossing and turning are with me nightly! This works!!

Try melatonin. It's not a drug. It's a supplement found in the vitamin aisle. The recommended dosage is 6mg.

I listen to music. I usually have the same problem. But it seems that listening to music helps. Not just any type though. I listen to soft jazz or acoustic or relaxation music. Any loud rock or modern day music is too distracting I believe.
