Should I hold back or be afraid to speak my mind?

there's a lot of things I would like to say to people that do things I don't like and I'm every time I wanna say something, I just don't. I hold my self back, it's like I'm afraid to say something when I really want to or should.

If these people are understanding then yes.
But if you know they're going to blow casket then no.
But if you're willing to take whatever comes ahead then go for it but do it in a calming matter

No, say what you want to say, speak the truth even when it isn't in season. You might lose a few people in the process, but those are the people who aren't worth keeping, anyone worth your time, will admire your frankness and honesty.

That's not all bad. If you are talking about something you feel strongly about or know to be wrong, then speaking out is always advised. If all you're doing is offering yet another opinion, then sitting on the sidelines and remaining silent isn't so bad. There a wise old saying that fits this....."It is better to remain silent and thought the fool than to speak up and remove all doubt."

There is nothing wrong with speaking your mind .. and most often people, although they may disagree with you, won't give you a hard time about it .. However .. You must understand it's not your thoughts that cause a problem as much as the 'delivery'...unless, of course, your thoughts are right out of the park, so to speak.

If you spew hurtful, hateful or argumentative words while you are 'expressing' your opinion .. THAT's where trouble starts. Articulate your thoughts, and express them intelligently and concisely .. and no one can argue .. not legitimately anyways.

alex, generally speaking, people talk too much! which explains why we have two ears and one mouth. ha! I try to listen at least twice as much as I yap. I often fail. when I do talk, I try to be kind, helpful, humble, knowledgable (sorely lacking! lol); I try to say what I mean with love and understanding...but on the other hand, some people just get on my nerves (aunt hilda comes to mind :-()!!! I have opinions about everything! I even have opinions about opinions. I'm a little "out there!" but what you have to say IS important. and sometimes people will differ. that's tough! ha. but seriously, I try very hard not to hurt anyone...and I accept the fact that some people are just full of ah.."poop"...;-) celebrate life and make it a great 2013!!!

Ok thanks for the advice. And by the way, I can't really ever speak with kindness and love or whatever, I tried it a few times and didnt work because my family is mostly the "A" word.

Speak only when necessary. It makes it more impactful when you do say something.

If you are a constant "blow hard" then it is more likely you will be ignored when it crucial to be listened to.

It's ok to do so how ever some people can't handle the truth and may blow out on you.
Doing so use words that won't hurt or make them feel bad remember your action will lead to a path good or bad and you have to live with it.
In other words there are many maniac out there use your commen cense and body language to read the other person on how he or she will react upond your words.

Speak your mind, if someone does you wrong you have every right to defend yourself or your beliefs. I was like that for many years and it really feels empowering to step up and confront people and get things off your chest. Just know when to quit before it goes to far.
