Why doesn't Central Texas ever barely receive any snow?

Like there is absolutely no snow here and I want it to snow soo bad.

Because it is Texas, it rarely snows there in general. Or is "Snow" a new street term I haven't learned yet.

Central Texas is far enough south it typically escapes a lot of snowfalls.

Because the winds generally come from the warm waters off the Gulf of México. That makes it too warm for snow. I have about 18 inches in my yard and I'm just a couple of states north if you want to come get it.

It's a lot closer to the equator I live in Louisiana and we only get snow every 7 years which it only stays on the ground for 1 day.
