My first suggestion would be to go the the doctor and have him/her prescribe some antibiotics to help you fight the infection. If you can't do this, I have found that eating soup will lessen the pain, as will gargling salt water. I don't know why those work; they just do. To prevent dehydration, make sure to drink plenty of fluids, and to avoid making other people sick you should avoid keeping your mouth away from other people and their things (like silverware). Some more natural remedies that I have either heard of or had recommended to me before is green tea with lots of honey (both green tea and honey research suggests that some of the chemical compounds in both help them to shorten the time it takes for a person to recover from an illness), Slippery Elm Lozenges (they help to alleviate some of that pain naturally), and Eucalyptus Oil (is a natural microbe-killing agent). I hope that this helps! Sorry about your strep throat I know that it sucks to have. :(
Get a prescription, drink hot tea with honey about twice a day till it's gone, and making sure you are doing everything (health wise) your suppose to do as to not prolong the strep throat. Like washing your hands.
