I have a client who has 7G as her base color and bleached hilites. She wants to change to a level 6N with carmel hilites

If I put 6N without a color filler will the bleached part come up to carmel and the other cover to give me the desired color or should I put filler and color whole head and go back in and bring up to carmel?

No! No! No!!!! Foil low-lights in (caramel shade) assuming the caramel lights desired are still a level 7 all you would have to use on the bleached hair is a Demi-permanent color since they are already porous... In between the foils just deepen her up with the level 6. I would say your ok using the 6N since you have so much gold going on in the hair already. Of course your going to be coloring some of the bleached pieces with this color but that's ok- it will give more dimension. If the cot comes out a bit ruddy then you can use a toner/glaze towards the end in the sink with a warmer tone. ;)
