Thankfulness is. When you are thankful and appreciative of every thing and everyone in your life, you will find that you can't help but to feel happy. From my own personal experience, when I truly had a relationship with God, that's when it all started for me. My eyes were opened to see how good of a life I was blessed with (even though I wasn't financially rich, I found a joy and a peace in my heart that never has to leave. He can keep you happy for the rest if your life, if that is what you want! :)
be happy with who you are and be happy for all the good things you have , if you start to feel sad , find someone or something that needs you , like offer to help out at a dog shelter , school or nursing home , sometimes the best feeling you can have is making someone else happy , good luck :)
To Allow Yourself to Be Happy is the Greatest Wisdom There Is You might like to know that the secret of happiness can be explained in just eight words and is, in fact, quite mundane. It does not involve meditation, drugs or self-flagellation. Each of the eight words is worth one million dollars, but here they are, free:
Tomorrow - Today - Live - For - Better - Working - A - While
HAPPINESS: Do not abandon yourself to sorrow, do not torment yourself with brooding. Gladness of heart is life to anyone, joy is what gives length of days. Give your cares the slip, console your heart, chase sorrow far away; for sorrow has been the ruin of many, & is no use to anybody. Jealousy & anger shorten your days, & worry brings premature old age. A genial heart makes a good trencherman, someone who enjoys a good meal. Ecclesiasticus 30:21
Matthew 5:3 says "Happy are those who are conscious of their spiritual need."
We were created to have a spiritual need. Our loving Creator, Jehovah God, knows exactly what we need and can make us the happiest we can ever be. 2 Timothy 3:16,17 says "All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."
This shows that we need to let the Bible guide our lives. By doing this we will be truly happy.
The secret to happiness is to make others happy, to make those you love happy and to shield them from the sorrows of life. The secret to happiness is to accept the fact that happiness is the only good - the bud, blossom and fruit of good actions. The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here.
Man is a sentient being and his happiness depends upon conditions. In order to be happy man must preserve the conditions of well-being and must be in harmony with the conditions of happiness. Man must accept the fact that happiness is not a gift of any god; that it must be earned by man -- must be deserved. That happiness cannot be obtained by prayer, - it does not come from heaven - it must be found here by virtue.
By happiness is meant not simply lust and luxury - the joy of eating and drinking - the gratification of the appetite - but good, well-being, in the highest and noblest form. The joy that springs from obligation discharged, from duty done, from generous acts, from comforting the afflicted, from defending the innocent, from being true to the ideal; from doing the best to increase the happiness of fellow-men.
