Most progressives are for progress. Most also don't believe that going back to the days of the almighty corp having all the power over a worker is wrong. They also believe children should not be forced into the labor market. They also believe that preventive medical care can save money and that people shouldn't have to choose between a roof over their heads and medical care.

The progressive approach to healthcare in general is one of prevention, as the saying goes,"An once of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Using this mindset the idea of universal healthcare, aka "Obama care", is that overall cost can be reduced by early detection and lifelong health maintenance. An analogy of our healthcare system as it stands today is as if you never checked your tire pressure in your car, never changed your oil, never replaced your brakes, basically just drove it and nothing more. You can imagine how much more expensive it is to replace your engine or transmission as opposed to the cost of regular maintenance.

I'm not a fan of Obamacare. Nobody could tell us what is in the bill, nobody knows what it's going to do to the country, and I don't think we can afford it
Report as
Since every other industrialized nation can handle this, I think we can too

It actually saves money. #peoplewhoread

entitlement spending is out of control already. obamacare will crush us along with his other out-of-control spending habits. "pretty soon he'll run out of other people's money"
Report as
Kind of tough foot him to do since its congress that budgets. Exactly which "entitlements"are out of control?
Report as
all of the entitlement programs are out of control. Why should I pay for a drug dealer to use food stamps? Why should I pay for their cell-phones, free medical care, and free housing? Not only that, I can't think of ONE government program that functions efficiently, not one. The gov continues to make a mess and then calls on the tax payers to foot the bill. Obamacare will be no different; it'll be a debacle and the tax payer, as usual, will have to bail it out. As someone smarter than I has said, "sooner or later we will run out of other people's money."

The approach progressives take toward everything is their own power and the destruction of America - period! Make no mistake about that.
