Do knee bindings work?

I've been thinking about getting knee bindings for my skis. I haven't heard much about them. They are very expensive, so I would like to know that they are effective at preventing ACL injuries. Any feedback from users?

There are knee braces that will help support your knee for skiing. However, there isn't a piece of equipment on the planet that will eliminate the risk of injury. Since the flexibility of the knee is crucial to skiing, I would get something that supports but allows movement and stay away from the high jump! =)

Knee Bindings do work and they help prevent ACL injuries. However, the user has to follow all the guidelines and keep getting a doctor's check up. It is important to get the recommendation from a doctor though.

I am 58 years old and I am quite aggressive skier (for my age). Three years ago I tore the ACL and the MCL in my left knee. Since that time I have been skiing using knee bindings. They work great , I have never had problem with binding pre-releasing during skiing while they always released when I needed it. I am very impressed with the way they work, the release itself is very smooth almost non-noticeable. I am again aggressive skier doing moguls and double black diamonds. The knee bindings helped me to build again my confidence I lost after long and painful recovery from the surgery that followed the injury. Yes the bindings are very expensive (possibly too expensive) and not too may shops can service them but yet this is nothing compering torn ACL. I am not trying to convince anybody to use the bindings but I am sold and I will use them as long as I am skiing; unless somebody will come up with better ones.
In the last two years I had at last one fall that look very similar to this one that tore my ligaments (I will never forget the first one) and nothing happened .... judge for yourself.
