Why don't you just do it yourself instead of depending on something else?

It all comes out when you get on your knees. God understands everything, so you don't have to think of what your gunna say like you would to that girl you really like at school, just go with it and it will be fine.

You should always Pray His Will be done. God does not always give us what we want if it's not His Will.

Exactly, god is wise and knows all and he wisely answers yes, no, or wait, just like when you pray to a milk jug.

There isn't an exact way of praying... You can be standing, laying, kneeling.... Sprawled out on the kitchen floor... You just go somewhere where you feel comfortable and just talk to him. Talk to him like the way you talk to anybody you trust...

The purpose of praying is communion with your Heavenly Father. Did you love your earthly father just because he gave you things all the time? Our did you love him for who he was. God already gave us more than we deserve. He gave us His Son Jesus.

Psalm 23:1

A Psalm of David.

23 The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.

Philippians 4:19

19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus

Doesn't say wants it says needs.

First, True prayer is humility of the Spirit. Second, God already knows what is within one's heart. Third, Ask according to thy (his) will. Fourth, Ref - Garth Brooks - "Thank God for Unanswered Prayers". Safe Journey.

God doesn't do anyone favors. You have to do it yourself or get help from real people.

Even if you haven’t prayed before, the Bible’s examples of those who prayed, “God, help me,” can encourage you. You can pray for anything that is in harmony with God’s requirements as stated in the Bible. “No matter what it is that we ask according to [God’s] will, he hears us.” (1 John 5:14) Can you mention your personal concerns? Of course! There's a really short article with a few scriptures that can give you some ideas on what to pray for:

http://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/questions/what-can-i-pray-for/

We can pray for making good decisions, for peace in our lives, anything that affects us being able to do what he wants us to do, as he tells us in the Bible. www.jw.org has plenty of other short articles on prayer with some scriptures you can look up in your Bible at home that can help you even more. Keep in mind though that God doesn't accept ALL prayers, if you pray for something that go against what he says in the Bible then he will not answer. Also, if you keep doing things that God does not approve of on purpose then he will not listen either. Hope that helps!

The very thought of praying and believing in God that he only can help you out shows your true belief in God. Any prayer which is from the deepest of heart and the belief that HE only can help you out will always be answered by HIM.

God is not a magical fairy that grants wishes .. He doesn't work like that. He doesn't do "favors". You want something specific to happen, then pray for guidance, and strength to help make it happen...and don't ever forget that YOU play a very important part in getting what you want. Dont just expect him to grant you a miracle ... Just because you've asked for it. There is always other people in greater need ... So keep that in mind. Let your conscience be your guide.

Believe in yourself first, be positive, than believe that God will grant what you deserve.

Do you pray when you DON'T want anything? Just to show your respects. If not, consider this: Do you like people who are only nice to you when they want something? Do you give them what they ask for if you know that as soon as they get it, they will stop being nice to you?
Also, assuming your god hears your prayer, it may not be something he/she/it feels you should have. Sometimes a prayer is answered, but the answer is NO.
To pray effectively, which is what you're asking about, you need to do so regularly. And you need to accept the fact that even so, you may not get what you ask.

It's really good that you wants to develop a deeper relationship with God. In fact at 1 John 5:14 it says, "And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that, no matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us." We can find what God's will is at Matthew 6:9-13.

Remember the words at Philippians 4:6, "Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God."

I hope this helps you!

God is not our personal genie or magician. You can ask anything but there is nothing you can do to MAKE Him do what you want. If it has to do with getting rich or popular or hurting something i can almost guarantee it wont happen.
To pray you just talk to God tho. He'll hear and He'll see the purpose and motivation of youre heart.
