I do not think it is against the rules for a catholic to eat chicken at any time, though I am not catholic. Good Friday, though, I think you should not eat it. If you want to find out, ask the pastor/priest at your church to see.

If you are hungry you can, if you are not hungry then you must eat. It is not a banned food on any or some special days.
