What are some water issues with the Amazon Rainforest?

Report as

A large portion of the Earths breath of life (Oxygen) is released through the exchange of CO2 in these forests that depend on rainfall for lushness. If through ignorance and inattention we continue to allow the flora to be clear-cut for profit, the rains will wash away the topsoil, and future generations will gasp instead of breathe.

It is home to many unusual species which cannot live elsewhere. Some are yet to be discovered. The biome is integral to their survival.
