How does temperature affect the way popcorn pops?

I need help on my science project.........HELP!

I would guess that the kernels have water in them. This water is heated to a gas via microwave which occupies more space than liquid water. It would sort of be like a bomb. All the steam builds up until the kernell cant tAKE IT AND *POP*

Popcorn kernals are basically startch and water. when the water is heated, it presses against the starch until POP
