Why don't limes have seeds?

Report as

Depends on the variety, the most common ones at the grocery store are made to be seedless, but some of the other ones, like Key Limes do have seeds.

The limes I've used always had seeds, but I suppose they can be genetically altered NOT to have seeds the way grapes, oranges & any other seedless fruits have been.

When I was younger, ;which seems to have been a century ago, almost all citrus had seeds, they started developing hybrids (through cross breeding) to make them seedless. It's really a crap shoot as to getting any citrus with or without seeds any more.
