My daughter got married in a December after living with her fiancé for 3. 1/2 years. How much should we give as a wedding gift?

We paid for a small reception in December.

That's hard to answer since we know nothing of your situation. You paid for the reception so give what you can afford and from the heart. It doesn't have to be cash, you can give a meaningful, useful gift, after 3 years living together they probably don't need much.

It depends what you think is appropriate, as her mother. Maybe you can offer her and the husband a nice vacation somewhere. Or, if you can't afford that, offer them a really nice dinner somewhere. All depends on how much money you can afford
