Why not be protective? So many harm and dangers in the world. Some parents do this to instill morals or values in you, and to keep you away from awful influences. Some do it for love and caring. Not all parents are protective though. Just thought I would add that. All parents have different reason for what they do, and the only to find out "Why", is by asking.
Because they created us.....we slowly brewed for nine months in our Mothers belly......they cared for us as infants when we wouldn't have lasted for even a day without that care.....they have all these hopes and dreams for us and only want what's best for us.....and they've already been there and done that so they know how stupid kids can be if left to their own devices......
Because you are the most wonderful, the most valuable, and the most loving thing that they will ever possess in their lives, they always want to make sure that you are safe and they will protect you until the end of time...
Once you become a parent, you will understand. You raise your little one from birth to adulthood, it becomes the paramount focus of the parents' life to protect them 24/7. This never stops. Be glad your parents care enough to be protective.
They are protective because they are our parents and we are their children's and because they love us so much and scared if anything happened to us . just don't want us to go anywhere to not to get hurt or something like that because they are adults and have more experience more then we do . GET IT .. !

I'm not a parent, but I can still grasp the concept. Just try and imagine being responsible for someone you love so much. Would you not try and protect that person, shelter them, and keep them safe, emotionally, mentally, and physically? And like the great bambino said, we live in a dangerous world: they're a lot of corrupt ideas, dangerous influences, and people out that there that could cause harm. Children and teens tends to think they're invincible, and it's a parents job to rear, protect, and guide with love. Parents hold a big responsibility and hold a big part in what their child can become. I can only imagine what it will be like when I'm a mother... the world is getting scarier and more corrupt by the minute!
You are lucky you have parents who care enough to protect you, I did not have parents and I was abused by most people, my life has been a complete struggle and full of mistake which could have been prevented by proper guidance. I'm 40+ and even now cry for not having parents, the void I feel is so painful. Enjoy your parents and remember they protect cause they care.
