I believe by federal law, they can but they have to have your signed consent and make you aware i guess?? Hell i dont know truthfully, im just a wanna be judge. Sorry. Good luck- but i would believe, that if there is one on your vehicle they also are on your phones and cams on your door. You might want to change your Ways!!!!
its unlawful surveillance. the dealer as nothing to do with the cars payment if you went through a bank to get the car, unless your car has on star even then they can't use it unless you tell them they can
Ever hear of General Motors "on star" system. Most people don't know it, if the system is in the car it's is tracking you. Even if you don't subscribe to the service. Miss two payments and the car shuts itself off and reports the location to GMAC financing to make it easier for the repo division to pick it up! Have a major accident and the first thing the cops seize is the cars computer. It will tell them more about you that you're momma knows!
Some dealers also put on devices that will not allow your car to start if you owe them money. In Washington state those type of lots are considered shady. Pay extra and buy from a dealer with a reputation.
