Depends on what you consider survival. The prisons and ghettos are full of those who didn't study...one could say they are surviving. Not to say all in those circumstances shunned studying, but the chances of avoiding that predicament improve exponentially if you do study in school.
You are asking the wrong question. A way to look at it is like this: if all people stop studying, the world as we know it will be destroyed. No more electricity (hey, those power plants don't maintain themselves), no more health care, no more electronics, a horrific decline in average life span. The world would run for about 1 generation, and no more. However, if someone in an educated society does not study: well, there are plenty low-level jobs out there. Just don't expect to get rich quick, unless you get lucky in some way.
Survive sure. Get a degree/diploma probably not. Then all youd be DOING is surviving. No diploma means little to no money. It means low paying jobs that barely let you get by. Studying isnt about survival, its about bettering youself and assuring youself a future beyond flipping burgers or waitressing or standing behind a cash register for the rest of your life, stuggling to make ends meet. Of course people can survive without studying, but is that really all you want for your life? Just to survive?
survival yes but we need education . There is a good chance that if not going to school or doing anything that involves education there is a possibly that you could not remember how to read and write. It does not end with education we learn something new everyday !
