What happens if you lose your job but your insurance company isn't aware and still covers the cost of your prescription drugs?

I lost my job over 2 months ago. Recently I went to fill my prescription and I told the pharmacist that I no longer have insurance and that they need to delete it from they system. They said they would, but they didn't. My insurance ended up covering the cost of my meds. What will happen when the insurance company finds out they weren't suppose to cover it? Will they demand a reimbursement from me?

I had a similar experience. The insurance billed me for the service. So they may bill you effective your last reported date of employment. I suggest that you contact human resources of your former company to see the last effective date of your health benefits. Who knows, you may have been covered for the service and not have to worry about it.

Once your insurance company finds out, they will definitely bill you. They will begin the deductions from your date of unemployment up until the current date.
