Why won't my computer start?

it was acting very laggy and then all of it froze so i shut it down, now every time i attempt to turn it on it does the launch repair wether i agree to or not. it looks like i have a problem with my HDD but i don't know how to check since microsoft's fucking website only says how to from the start menu.
as much help as possible would be much appreciated

Load a bootable disc in the disc drive. I hope you have one.
When you start up press the appropriate Function key that brings up CMOS.
Set CMOS to boot up on your disc drive, not anything else.
Save and reboot.

If you have no trouble booting off your disc drive, you definitely have a bad HDD.

Your hard drive probably screwed itself, you need to do a factory reset by wiping the hard drive, and restore the computer

Did you try turning it off and then on again?

Happens to me too. The computer is probably old. Get a laptop.
