In what ways does the nervous system help maintain homeostasis?

I've been doing a lot of research and keep getting useless information that doesn't really go into detail about the question above. If you know of some website that I could look at or could just answer my question with your own personal knowledge I would be much obliged. Thank you in advance for any answers!

If you are talking about the autonomic nervous system, you basically have 2 types of neurons that balance each other out: sympathetic and parasympathetic. Sometimes also called adrenergic system and cholinergic system. As far as the central nervous system it is very complex, but neurotransmitters help to balance out brain functions.
