I live in Ohio . Is my child's school allowed by law ,to call her doctors office to see if she was really there ?
The school may be allowed to ask, but the doctor's office isn't allowed to answer. It's a violation of your daughter's privacy, and of HIPAA regulations.
if she had been chronically truant
Absolutely not. They can try, but the doctor's office would be violating privacy laws-federal laws
They can yes. The clinic isn't obligated to answer. I'm not real sure why this would be an issue though.
Geeez. Why would they spend their time doing something like that?
