At my age I tend to doze off during a meal. So far my head hasn't dropped into my food but I expect my end will come when I drown in a plate of soup.
Seriously? There's no set time. Your meal will digest better, and you'll probably be less likely to put on weight, if you leave a few hours between eating and going to bed. Some health faddists claim that breakfast should be the biggest meal of the day because you have longer to burn off the energy. We have our main meal at lunchtime and only a light meal in the evenings. Of course, being able to do that depends on your work schedule.
Depends on your age but it is always better to keep gap of 1-2 hours and make sure you dont gulp too much food which is hard to get digested...... If you are over 50+ than just eat n sleep right away, as no one waiting for you ..........
I think a better question to ask would be, how long before bed should you eat? You should always go to bed at a regular time, and you should have eating probably about 2 hours before you go to sleep, and not too heavily. Night time is your bodies time to rest, and that doesn't mean only your eyes. It means your digestive system and everything should be able to rest. If you eat a big meal before sleep you have this bug lump of food for your stomach to work on all night! I'd say that is a pretty shabby deal for your digestive system! haha :D
