Walk Two Moons - A girl has to go out of town for her mothers birthday, and her life is dramatically changed by a series of events (I haven't read it in a while, so I can't remember exactly what it's about, but it's a good one.)
The Guardians of Ga'Hoole Series - An alliance of evil owls are moon blinking baby owls and creating an army against their enemies. It is up to Soren to find the Guardians of Ga'Hoole, mighty owls dedicated to defending the weak, mending the broken, and vanquishing evil, before it is too late.
Whispers - Teri is going on vacation to Hawaii to visit her sister and brother-on-law. But when 3 men come into her life, an old high-school crush, a man she used to date, and an Australian with a wild past, she discovers God's plan for her in her love life.
The Millennium Trilogy...the first book is The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. It's mainly about Lisbeth Salander who is a very talented computer hacker with mental problems a very dark past and a huge dragon tattoo. It's genre is fiction. The whole trilogy has been on the best seller list.
Divergent-- Dystopic, like the Hunger Games... Beatrice Prior has come of age to choose her faction, one of five (Dauntless, Amity, Candor, Erudite, and Abnegation-her home faction), but her aptitude test shows she is suitable for more than one. This is known as being Divergent. And then she chooses and then you meet Four and then you become obsessed and it's all you can think about and then you discover the FANDOM! :D
The Beyonders series: by the author of Fablehaven. A boy is swallowed by a hippo and transported to another world. The world is ruled by an evil sorceror, who nobody even tries to fight anymore. The boy who got transported decides to fight back, along with a group of friends.

Feed - M.T. Anderson ; everyone has a news feeds installed in their brains in the future
The Chaos Walking Trilogy - Patrick Ness; living on a new planet, Todd must hold onto his innocence while stopping an evil tyrant from taking over, and protecting the girl he can't live without
Acceleration - Graham McNamee; while working at a Torinto lost and found, Duncan finds the twisted journal of a probable killer and takes it upon himself to prevent three women mentioned inside from becoming victims
The Homelanders series - Andrew Klavan; having lost a year of memory, Charlie West finds himself a terrorist group member and charged with the murder of his former best friend
I have more recommendations but there's not enough room here. These are my favorite, un-put-downable books and series.
