I have fiber glass insulation in my attic with a foil backing. Should the foil face into the wall or out toward the room?

Installed wrong?

The foil backing in your fiber glass insulated attic should face out toward the room. The foil reflects heat back towards the center of the room when it moves towards it. This helps to maintain heat with in the room as much of it will not be lost as a result of conduction and thus improving on the insulation.

Typically it should face toward the room to keep moisture from infiltrating the the glass.

The vapor barrier should always face the heated room.
