If you're buying a car with cash, I don't think it makes any difference what age you are. To finance one, you'd need to be at least 18, and to register, insure & drive a car, you'd need a valid driver's license -- so whatever age (16 or 17) that is in your state. Just to buy &/or own one..? No specific minimum age that I'm aware of. I bought my first car w/ cash at age 16, but couldn't do anything other than look at it 'til I got my driver's license. :)
There is no specific age you can purchase a car, if you have the money it doesn't matter. You can't drive it until you are 16 at the time so it doesn't really have a point to buy I car before you can drive it.
