A dip prepared from chick peas and pine nuts usually....can have many spices added. My favorite is garlic hummus! Goes great with a pita. Try it, you may like it! I love it! Don't think it is low calorie! Most have gads of olive oil added for a smooth creamy texture...but it is GOOD!
Hummus is a dip from the Middle East. There are SO many variations that use different ingredients. Some people like it, and some don't. The only one I ever tried was garlic, and I though it was delicious. :)
I thought hummus was made out of gabonzo beans. I normally like all kinds of beans so I tried it and made my family laugh with my reaction! I did not like it what so ever but every one else in my family and church love it. :) You should try it though because you never know if you'll like it till you try it
